I'm an entrepreneur, author, journalist and social change strategist.

I started out my career by co-founding Free Range Studios, an advertising company for good. We made some of the web's first viral videos like The Meatrix and The Story of Stuff, alerting millions to important social causes that no one was talking about.

Making films, I fell in  love with storytelling and in 2012, I published the bestseller Winning the Story Wars with Harvard Business Review Press. It's about how to break through the media din and change lives using the classic patterns of stories and myths. This year I'll release my second book Unsafe Thinking: How to be Nimble and Bold When you Need it Most. This time I'm exploring how we can change ourselves in order to better change our businesses and the world.

I've led major branding and design projects for Greenpeace International, Autodesk, ACLU, Microsoft, Amnesty International, Stonyfield Farms and the Human Rights Campaign. My work has won "best ofs" at the Webbys, Sundance and SXSW.
